Joi Aberle

Associate General Counsel

As Associate General Counsel to BEB Capital, a leading investor and developer of industrial, office, and multifamily assets throughout the East Coast, Joi Aberle plays a pivotal role within the organization. Leveraging her innovative problem-solving abilities, Joi navigates the complexities inherent in BEB Capital’s real estate transactions, with a particular focus on the commercial and industrial sectors. In 2024, Ms. Aberle played an integral role in BEB Capital’s financing of a major mixed-use development in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. This $143 million project, located at 745 4th Avenue, involves the construction of a 193,000-square-foot, 14-story building comprising 187 mixed-income residential units and retail space. The development will feature various unit types, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences. Notably, 46 of these units will be permanently affordable, averaging 48% of the area median income, marking one of the lowest AMI thresholds in Brooklyn over the past five years. Beyond addressing New York’s critical need for affordable housing, 737 4th Avenue includes a Community Benefits Agreement, promising long-term benefits for the neighborhood, including local employment opportunities, M/WBE contracting, and green infrastructure enhancements.

Ms. Aberle is currently a member and the co-Annual Dinner Chairperson of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court, whose mission is to inspire the legal community to achieve the highest level of professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence, and a Board Member of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association Foundation, whose mission is to promote the advancement of the status of women in society and of women in the legal profession; to promote the fair and equal administration of justice; and to act as a unified voice for its members with respect to issues of statewide, national, and international significance to women generally and to women attorneys in particular.
